All Empires kill or enslave, especially if you are something 'special'. You sound like you had people that actually cared about you enough to protect you.

I was lucky in a lot of ways. [But even as he says that, he sounds disturbed and confused.]

Savage. The clones I know - they're part of my family. People I'm lucky to know. Rex in particular taught me how to be an officer. I don't see them as pale comparisons to anything.

If any of the clone brothers came here, they get to decide if they count me as family, obviously. But I'd be honored for them to accept.

Clones came from somewhere. From what I know, the individual who all others are based on had exemplary skills, history, pedigree.

You might not see them that way, but does everyone else?

Well, no, not everyone. [It had taken Kanan a while to get past the trauma of the Purge and actually trust the surviving clones as people. The attitude in the Alliance in general seemed...varied.]

I can't control whatever everyone else thinks. I can argue and persuade, if I see someone being a bigot.

But you're talking like you're less than. Like you've...accepted it.

You do seem to take enjoyment out of lecturing based on our conversations.

I have accepted it. I live and die in the shadow of a far greater man, and I made my peace with it a long time ago.

We've gotten side-tracked from the purpose of the conversation then. So you won't come by, but that hardly affects me. You and I don't train together.

I cared that you know why. And talking with you – whatever else it is, it's not boring.

And, you know what, I'll amend my previous statement about non-lethal. I've hunted for food before. Add hunting non-sapients for food to the list of activities.

Whatever. Throw other plants in dirt, make sure soil is wet and if you're lucky, something will grow.

[His gardening experience is literally bleeding into the dirt to get a Dathomirian plant which he keeps inside.]

[Ezra isn't making any promises about that first part. He'd still try to stop outright murder and every conversation with Savage just seems to reinforce that the Zabrak is deeply unhappy. Ezra is too empathetic to not be upset by that.]

I hunt every day for blood crazed beasts, but I hunt for food every two days or so. Accompany me on food hunting.

[Oh good, he doesn't have to argue about not going beast hunting. He knows beasts can, at least sometimes, come back to their senses. So between that and the risk of corruption, he's got some ethical and practical qualms about actively hunting them.]

What time of day and where do you want to meet up?

I hunt for food in the forests of Shiver or around the Sanguine Station. I head out either before dawn or dusk.

Either place is fine with me. Before dawn fits my usual schedule better.
