First the explored the edges of their new Dathomir, the familiarity of it and the ache that came with it. Sometimes he missed home, the dark pull of the planet and the harshness of it, even if he wouldn't miss the living in the mountains now that he had seen other worlds.
This place was 'homely' and people either ignored him outright or some of the others stared. There were very few alien species from what he could tell, so he definitely stood out like a sore thumb. [He's trying to get some salve onto his left arm where he'd gotten a lightsaber graze and wrap it up, but Maul is left-handed, so his work is clumsy and shoddy. Eventually, he wordlessly offers his arm out towards his brother, knowing Savage already knows what to do. They've been in enough battles together to know how to patch each other back up. Maul explains what happened.]

His brother was the most skilled with the Force and a lightsaber that he had met - aside from maybe the Sith Lord that killed him and Obi-Wan - but it also wasn't the Sith way to show any manner of mercy. That was for the weak, but he was reminded that Maul wasn't the same as the Zabrak brother who sat upon the Mandalorian throne.]
I've fought that apprentice before. He and Kenobi were sent to kill me. [A pause and finally his eyes rose from his work to regard his brother.] Are you certain he was a Jedi at all? Emotions are not their way. If it was between him killing you and the other way around, it is good you ended him.
[Maul stolidly sat there, allowing his brother to work on his injuries. Pain was an old, familiar companion, one he could count on, and know how to work with. There was no flinching or wincing from him. He didn't have nearly as many wounds as he could have. For much of the fight, he'd been the one injuring Anakin instead of the other way around.]

He'd have to hide anything he felt about the act. Even so, he did feel a bit hollow as well. Anakin had been a stupid fool, but if he'd only taken the time to listen, killing him wouldn't have been necessary.]
[He shrugged his shoulders. Most of the Jedi he had fought and killed had momentary bursts of emotion, but they were rather good at reigning it in. The only time that he had seen much of any real push for an emotional reaction was when his brother baited Obi-Wan when they had first began to torment the Jedi.
He moved to Maul's other side to apply salve on the right arm as well, though there were few on this side. He wrapped them securely with bandage material.
He glanced at as his brother admitted feelings to that killing, and he had heard that Maul was on good behavior. Killing here was reserved for the various monsters and non-sentient species that this place generated.
He eased away from Maul to give them space, as was typical between them.]
Besting a Jedi in combat is meant to feel good. They are your rivals and they stand against your rise to power.

Maul shifted around, moving his arms to see how their mobility had been effected by the bandaging. But Savage, steady as always, had done a good job, allowing the injuries to be covered while still allowing Maul a full range of motion. He didn't thank his brother. Even now, there were still all the little things that he took for granted, now that Savage was fully back in his life.]
Kenobi? No. He is not one for revenge. Neither is one of the other Jedi in town named Luke. Most will understand, for many have killed in this town. But this Skywalker, when he comes back, I am certain he will not be so merciful.
[He had been instructed to just give in to her. Maul had seemed resigned about her, but Savage was stubborn and resistant for the time being. He had not yet experienced the full weight of Usagi's personality.]

He moved to head back inside and the big stallion moved to follow, shoving a head in the open door and clearly considering how to break the door open further to allow that massive bulk inside.]
I told you that it's too small. [Could horse's glare? Apparently this one could.] Go around and I'll open the window for you to put your head in. There might be an apple left.
[As children, he and Maul had been provided for with many food baskets, so they had left overs, mostly things he wasn't interested in eating unless he absolutely had to. He shoved the stallion's head and off the horse went to the indicated window, allowing him to shut the door and stalk his way into the house.
He smelled blood. He growled as he emerged from the hallway to the kitchen, the air around his brother practically radiating energy. Maul was in a good mood but wounded. In a fight then; nothing raised his brother's spirits quite like a blood letting.]

[He walked over to the big window in the kitchen and opened it, all for his new companion's big head to push inside and look around, ears pricked with interest. Savage had named the horse Rampage after one of his early caretakers of the Nightbrothers.]
[This was directed towards the giant horse that was now poking his rather large nose into the house, looking around at everything curiously. He gives Maul a baleful look as if not sure he can trust this unknown person or not.
Maul grimaced as he removed a piece from his cheek that turned into a satisfied smirk when Savage asked what had happened. He never was more alive than when he was in the middle of battle and his bloodlust was up.]
That little pain that can conjure lightning. Glitch. He is now missing an arm.
[Maul was a little miffed that he'd been unable to complete the job but he'd settle for a loss of limb right now, sounding very pleased about what had happened. The Zabrak had been even more furious when he heard that Glitch and Savage had gotten into a fight, though he at least took satisfaction in the fact that his brother had thrown an entire vehicle at the little pain in the ass.
He dug around in his chest and pulled out another piece of the shrapnel, dropping it into a small container he'd put onto the table.]
He did manage a stab wound on my back. Can you reach it?
[It had mostly finished clotting by now, just leaving a long slash mark across his back right at the seam where his prosthetics met his flesh half. He'd have to run a diagnostic later and see if the lightning had left any lasting damage to his lower half like Glitch had done last time he'd try to fry him.
He glanced again at the black draft horse that looked like every inch the mount that Sith Lord would have. Maul used the Force to hover a piece of fruit over towards him, heedless of whether or not it was something a horse could actually eat.]
[Rampage hadn't seemed particularly friendly with many, and at that size, the horse was not to be trifled with. So far, the big beast was good and willing to shove Savage around, and did not take well to strangers. Still, Rampage knew how to get around the sandworms that hunted, and that he had found was dead useful.
With the horse not apart of their apparent conversation, he moved over to his brother to look at the wounds in question. Sharpnel was something Maul could deal with, and they hardly ever coddled one another even through injury. It was the life of a warrior to have to endure.
Instead, he moved off to fill a bowl with water and add iodine to clean the injuries once Maul was finished removing the foreign material. That's when he noticed the wound on his brother's back and returned. He set down the bowl and picked up a piece of gauze to dab the laceration.]
Just missing an arm? That one gets away with far too many liberties with you, brother. No doubt he'll make a big scene about it.
[He began to wash the wound carefully on Maul's back, fingers moving to investigate the prosthetic damage as well. It didn't look bad, but he thought a better look would be warranted. This was all Maul had, though perhaps Amos could find something in the way of repairs should it come to that.]
It would do well with stitches. Would you like some?
[Now that was something they both could do for each other should the occasion require it.
He glanced over at the window where Rampage was craning in to sniff the apple that was coming his way. He ate it without hesitation, chewing it slowly.]
That's Rampage. He won't leave me alone, but he can avoid the sandworms.
I meant to kill him and would have but one of the little weakling's protectors interrupted me. There's always someone around to save that boy when he needs it. I have no idea why they consider him to be that important. I've no doubt he will cry about how horrible and monstrous I am to all his cronies and what a terrible tragedy has befallen him.
[He sounded quite proud of being able to cause such a state in someone else. Maul tried to make sure everyone was in a state of abject terror around him at all times. While he might have had some of his edges softened around here, he was never going to be a soft, empathetic person. Maul was a monster and always would be as he'd been made into.
Really, if Maul had been that weak and useless when he'd been under the tutelage of his master as he had seen in Glitch, he would have been killed or perished from not being able to stand on his own two feet. Only the strongest would survive. The Mandalorians had that right in spades.
Savage was one of only a handful of people Maul would have been comfortable turning his back on when he was in a vulnerable state like this. He picked up a clean rag and dabbed it away at one of the small wounds on his face. Though it was little it was also still bleeding profusely. He nodded when Savage asked if he wanted stitches, shifting his body so that his brother could have a better angle at which to sew him up.
Maul smiled at the name. His brother had the same taste in naming their various pets as he did.]
And has he lived up to his name yet? Stomped someone into a fine paste with those large hooves, perhaps?
If you're going after your enemies or at least those who annoy you, take me with you, brother. I am confident you would have finished the job without someone to bother you if I had them choked out. [A beat.] If he cries, you know your wife will come to shriek at you.

Maul hadn't been vehement about shutting her down, which also indicated that his brother had decided on that human-like tradition. He thought there was some exchange of metal or something, but he hadn't looked too deeply into it. He had little interest in such matters.
He waited until his brother had shifted positions so that he had better access to the wound and did a better job cleaning it out. Then he pulled the medical kit closer, threaded a needle and leaned down to set to work. No numbing; they were Zabrak and thus born tough. Pain only fueled their hatred.]
Not yet, but he is setting up for it. He's ill-tempered and pushy, but he allows me to ride him. I think he did kick one of those people who have come down the mountain.

[Maul limped back into their house. Between spending time as children and finally gaining revenge on Glitch, it has been a much better month for Maul than the last few have. He'd come off relatively unscathed from the encounter in comparison to someone who had lost their damn arm, just a long stab wound along his back and the bits of shrapnel from Ironwood's gun had splattered across his face and upper body.
He sits down at the kitchen table after grabbing the med kit that has become a constant companion for the pair of them. He pulls out a pair of tweezers and sterilizes them before using them to pick the little bits of the bullet out of his skin.]
Brother! Are you here?
[He'll need help to bandage the long gash along his back even if he can get almost everything else himself. Overall, Maul's in a very good mood given everything that's happened over the past couple of weeks.]

No matter, though. For his brother, he would be tolerant.
He was out back of the house, but he sensed and heard his brother in the house, as he had left the door open. He pushed the massive black draft horse's head from rubbing on his shoulder. He moved to head back inside and the big stallion moved to follow, shoving a head in the open door and clearly considering how to break the door open further to allow that massive bulk inside.]
I told you that it's too small. [Could horse's glare? Apparently this one could.] Go around and I'll open the window for you to put your head in. There might be an apple left.
[As children, he and Maul had been provided for with many food baskets, so they had left overs, mostly things he wasn't interested in eating unless he absolutely had to. He shoved the stallion's head and off the horse went to the indicated window, allowing him to shut the door and stalk his way into the house.
He smelled blood. He growled as he emerged from the hallway to the kitchen, the air around his brother practically radiating energy. Maul was in a good mood but wounded. In a fight then; nothing raised his brother's spirits quite like a blood letting.]
Who did you put in the dirt today, brother?
[He walked over to the big window in the kitchen and opened it, all for his new companion's big head to push inside and look around, ears pricked with interest. Savage had named the horse Rampage after one of his early caretakers of the Nightbrothers.]

[This was directed towards the giant horse that was now poking his rather large nose into the house, looking around at everything curiously. He gives Maul a baleful look as if not sure he can trust this unknown person or not.
Maul grimaced as he removed a piece from his cheek that turned into a satisfied smirk when Savage asked what had happened. He never was more alive than when he was in the middle of battle and his bloodlust was up.]
That little pain that can conjure lightning. Glitch. He is now missing an arm.
[Maul was a little miffed that he'd been unable to complete the job but he'd settle for a loss of limb right now, sounding very pleased about what had happened. The Zabrak had been even more furious when he heard that Glitch and Savage had gotten into a fight, though he at least took satisfaction in the fact that his brother had thrown an entire vehicle at the little pain in the ass.
He dug around in his chest and pulled out another piece of the shrapnel, dropping it into a small container he'd put onto the table.]
He did manage a stab wound on my back. Can you reach it?
[It had mostly finished clotting by now, just leaving a long slash mark across his back right at the seam where his prosthetics met his flesh half. He'd have to run a diagnostic later and see if the lightning had left any lasting damage to his lower half like Glitch had done last time he'd try to fry him.
He glanced again at the black draft horse that looked like every inch the mount that Sith Lord would have. Maul used the Force to hover a piece of fruit over towards him, heedless of whether or not it was something a horse could actually eat.]

With the horse not apart of their apparent conversation, he moved over to his brother to look at the wounds in question. Sharpnel was something Maul could deal with, and they hardly ever coddled one another even through injury. It was the life of a warrior to have to endure.
Instead, he moved off to fill a bowl with water and add iodine to clean the injuries once Maul was finished removing the foreign material. That's when he noticed the wound on his brother's back and returned. He set down the bowl and picked up a piece of gauze to dab the laceration.]
Just missing an arm? That one gets away with far too many liberties with you, brother. No doubt he'll make a big scene about it.
[He began to wash the wound carefully on Maul's back, fingers moving to investigate the prosthetic damage as well. It didn't look bad, but he thought a better look would be warranted. This was all Maul had, though perhaps Amos could find something in the way of repairs should it come to that.]
It would do well with stitches. Would you like some?
[Now that was something they both could do for each other should the occasion require it.
He glanced over at the window where Rampage was craning in to sniff the apple that was coming his way. He ate it without hesitation, chewing it slowly.]
That's Rampage. He won't leave me alone, but he can avoid the sandworms.

[He sounded quite proud of being able to cause such a state in someone else. Maul tried to make sure everyone was in a state of abject terror around him at all times. While he might have had some of his edges softened around here, he was never going to be a soft, empathetic person. Maul was a monster and always would be as he'd been made into.
Really, if Maul had been that weak and useless when he'd been under the tutelage of his master as he had seen in Glitch, he would have been killed or perished from not being able to stand on his own two feet. Only the strongest would survive. The Mandalorians had that right in spades.
Savage was one of only a handful of people Maul would have been comfortable turning his back on when he was in a vulnerable state like this. He picked up a clean rag and dabbed it away at one of the small wounds on his face. Though it was little it was also still bleeding profusely. He nodded when Savage asked if he wanted stitches, shifting his body so that his brother could have a better angle at which to sew him up.
Maul smiled at the name. His brother had the same taste in naming their various pets as he did.]
And has he lived up to his name yet? Stomped someone into a fine paste with those large hooves, perhaps?

[That's what she called herself, so he supposed that's the way that it was. Maul hadn't been vehement about shutting her down, which also indicated that his brother had decided on that human-like tradition. He thought there was some exchange of metal or something, but he hadn't looked too deeply into it. He had little interest in such matters.
He waited until his brother had shifted positions so that he had better access to the wound and did a better job cleaning it out. Then he pulled the medical kit closer, threaded a needle and leaned down to set to work. No numbing; they were Zabrak and thus born tough. Pain only fueled their hatred.]
Not yet, but he is setting up for it. He's ill-tempered and pushy, but he allows me to ride him. I think he did kick one of those people who have come down the mountain.
[He had been particularly vicious to them since he had been bitten while a child.]
